After joining at the start of this year, Sephora CEO Guillaume Motte is reorganising his executive leadership team.
Artemis Patrick, who has been with the company since 2006, has been promoted from global chief merchandising officer to president of Sephora North America. From 2 October, she will report to Jean-André Rougeot, current president and CEO of Sephora Americas, who is retiring in April 2024 after five years leading Sephora Americas and 18 years within LVMH. After Rougeot retires, Patrick will take over as CEO of North America and report to Motte, who joined Sephora from parent company LVMH’s Fashion Group, where he served as deputy chief executive from May 2021.
“Artemis has helped shape some of our most breakthrough category and product leadership initiatives to date, including inclusive foundation assortments, textured hair distortion, clean beauty and indie fragrances,” said Motte in a statement. “Her unrivalled retail brand, beauty and consumer expertise both in North America and globally, together with her remarkable leadership and in-depth knowledge of Sephora, will be instrumental in leading one of our most successful businesses.”
Replacing Patrick, Priya Venkatesh has been promoted to global chief merchandising officer from SVP global merchandising, effective 2 October. “Over her 18-year career at Sephora, Priya has had significant impact on the business in North America and globally, especially in leading our skincare and haircare categories, and building our clean beauty offer,” said Motte. “I am confident that she will contribute to reinforce our business momentum and strengthen our brand partnerships worldwide.”
In addition, global chief operating officer Alexis Rollier will oversee the Latin America region on top of his current role, from 1 January. “I am convinced that he will help accelerate the very exciting business momentum that Brazil and Mexico are experiencing,” said Motte.
